Is “Easter” a Pagan Word?

Easter just happened. It was a special day at my own church; I got to lead our twice-annual choir.

But some of the angriest comments I’ve ever received came on a post I wrote about the word “Easter.” And I’ll tell you about the controversy, and why I’m right, in this video.

First, though, a thank you to someone with the initials “TR”—not kidding—who sent me a $600 check and instructed me to take a family getaway. I obeyed. In this video I’m riding the ferry with my family back from Vancouver Island, which is very close to where we live in Washington State. And we had a wonderful time—precisely because someone gave me money and thereby allayed the guilt I always feel in paying for attractions for my kids. We visited the phenomenally beautiful Malahat skywalk, the Royal BC Museum, and a putt-putt course, and we had much-needed family time together. These weekly videos are very much listener supported, and I don’t say thank you often enough. Thank you, those who support me monthly through YouTube or Patreon, and those who support my work by giving me church web design work at Forward Designer.
